Hi CommunityI have quite a big project running in a sandbox environment. Dynamics365, Portals, Power Apps, Flows etc."Problem" is that sandbox environment is in fact being used as a production environment. I suppose it would be wise to turn it into a production environment, but why exactly and what would be the impact of it? And what can possibly go wrong? Thanks as always for your valuable input!Bart
Hi @BClouded,
The main differences between Sandbox and a Production environment are:
In short, there's no right/wrong way for your downstream environments except that Prod is obviously Production type and don't create CDS environments in the Default environment. If you're not planning on resetting your environments at regular basis then go for Production type. You can always change the configuration from Prod to Sandbox (and vice-versa) later.
Here's also a nice MS article about environment strategy: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/establishing-an-environment-strategy-for-microsoft-power-platform/
Hope this helps!
Hi @EricRegnier Thanks for your time to clarifying. Especially the better performance part might be key to transform this environment. This is a business critical environment, so we do not plan to reset all!Updating to production environment doesn't has any risks that comes with it? Like losing custom entities, apps, flows, ... Thanks!Bart
Nope, you won’t lose anything. It is safe.
cheers
