How to make SharePoint URL part of solution (to use pipeline)?

(3) ShareShare

Hi all,

I’ve created a pipeline to publish/push my agent from dev to test to production. When I initially created the solution, all of my agent components became part of the solution, including the SharePoint URLs.

Now I’ve added new SharePoint URLs as knowledge documents, but they are not automatically included in the solution.

Any idea how I can make them part of the solution so I can move them across environments?

Thank your for choosing Power Platform Community.

To include the new SharePoint URLs in your Microsoft Copilot Studio solution so they can move through your pipeline (Dev → Test → Prod), you’ll need to manually add them to the solution—they aren’t automatically bundled after initial creation.

Steps to Add SharePoint URLs to Your Solution
    • Go to your agent in Copilot Studio.
    • Navigate to the Knowledge section.
    • Confirm that your new SharePoint URLs are listed as knowledge sources.
    • Now, open your Solution in the Power Platform environment.
    • Use the “Add existing” option and select Knowledge source or Knowledge documents (depending on how the SharePoint content is categorized).
    • From the list, choose the new SharePoint URLs you added.
    • Save and publish the updated solution.
Once added, these URLs will be part of the solution package and will travel with your agent through the pipeline.
If you're using generative answers, make sure the SharePoint URLs are also linked to the Conversational boosting system topic, which is where generative nodes typically live

    Hi @Robu1

First of all, thank you so much for responding! :) However, I’m still a bit stuck. I’m having trouble finding where to add a ‘knowledge source’ or ‘knowledge documents’.

Could you perhaps share a screenshot showing where this appears in the dropdown menu, or tell me under which section this can be found?

This part of the UI can be a bit elusive!

🔍 Where to Add Knowledge Sources or Documents to a Solution
Go to Power Apps or Power Platform Admin Center Navigate to the Solutions area where your agent’s solution is stored.
Open Your Solution Select the solution that contains your Copilot agent.
Click “Add existing” This is usually at the top of the solution components list.

Look for These Options in the Dropdown:
    • Knowledge source
    • Knowledge documents
If you don’t see them immediately:
Try typing “knowledge” in the search bar within the dropdown.
They may appear under the AI or Data categories depending on your environment setup.
Select the Relevant Items Once you click one of those, you should see a list of available knowledge sources (like your SharePoint URLs). Select the ones you want to include.

Save and Publish After adding them, don’t forget to publish the solution so it’s ready for deployment across environments.

If you're still not seeing those options, it might be due to:
    • Permissions (you may need environment maker or higher).
    • The knowledge sources not being saved properly in Dataverse.
    • A UI glitch—sometimes refreshing the browser or switching to a different browser helps.

    Dear @Robu1,

Unfortunately, I still don’t see the option. I also don’t see a search bar where I can search (perhaps a difference between the Dutch and English UI?). My admin, who has all permissions, also doesn’t see a button with ‘knowledge source’ or ‘knowledge documents.’ Switching to a different browser doesn’t help either.

Could you perhaps make a screenshot of your tree view? Maybe I can deduce something from that.

Additionally, we do use Dataverse; do you have any idea where I can check if it’s being saved correctly? And what to do about it?

    Hi   ,

Here’s a visual-style walkthrough of where the “Knowledge source” or “Knowledge documents” options typically appear when adding components to a solution:

     Step-by-Step Visual Guide
Open Power Apps or Power Platform Admin Center.

Go to Solutions and open your target solution.

Click “Add existing” at the top of the component list.

    In the dropdown menu:
Start typing “knowledge” in the search bar (if available).
Look under categories like AI or Data.

    You should see:
    • Knowledge source
    • Knowledge documents

If the dropdown doesn’t show these:

Try refreshing the browser or switching to Edge/Chrome.

Confirm that the SharePoint URLs are saved in Copilot Studio > Knowledge.
Check if your environment language (e.g., Dutch vs. English) is affecting visibility.

If this fixes the issue, please mark as resolved to help others with find it.

    Hi there,

    Having the same issue here:

I simply do not see to add to solutions:
    • Knowledge source
    • Knowledge documents

Also I have never seen a search box for when add components to a solution, I don't think there ever has been one.
