Hi everyone,

I am trying to build an app for employees to collaborate in it, And I'd like to know if there is any way that displays the name of the users that are currently using the app? I'll give a similar example which is like excel. when you share an excel file with people, you can see who is currently editing or leaving the sheet open so I'd like to know if I can do that in power apps as well. where I the app shows  who are the users that are using the app when I share it

I hope my question was clear, thanks in advance

Too my knowledge nothing in terms of formula or inbuilt app capability allows for that.

I had a solution that desperately required something similar so the way I had to do it for them was have a timer patch the current users being on the app to a table at a regular interval. Then i had a filtered gallery by the createdon pull this information with a refresh icon to refresh the datasource. This is not an efficient way to do this but it is a way that does work. I do often try to avoid this.

Awhile later i had another solution need something similar thankfully in this scenario the team wanting the app was receptive to the issues involved and offered to follow a strict exit process to make this work. In this scenario OnStart I patched to a table the user who booted up the app (if the user did not exist in the table. If they already did I triggered a notification to let them know they already had a session open and they must ensure they exit before starting a new one) and showed a gallery with a refresh icon to show all users in that table. Then the team agreed that they wouldnt just close the tab, shutdown there computer mid session or leave the app open in the background. they would instead use the exit button which removed them from the table before Exiting the app. This required training in the team and strict emphasis on this in the user guideline but it is much more efficient than the first option.

I had another solution a while ago which was a bit simpler they needed a list of users who had been last to modify the table in the last hour. So i then used a gallery to connect to the table i filtered it to rows modifiedon in the last hour and then grouped by the user to show rows modified in the last hour and who last modified them.

Again while i would personally avoid this feature the above are ways I created something similar to this.

If this helped please like it, if you need more info please reply and if it is your solution please accept it as the solution
