Demo app sharing

Hello!

I apologize sincerely if such a topic was already solved before, I will be happy to receive URLs on the topics or relevant documentation.

I have read some articles in documentation but only got more and more confused with all sharing and licensing process.

So my question is, how can one create a demo app to share and show with the potential client? I had troubles even with sharing my Canvas App (with Teams based SharePoint and PowerAutomate as connectors) even with my colleagues - shared Power Apps, added to SP as members, then to the specific list within SP for Admin role, but still had issues on their side with PowerAutomate failing due to the Bad Gateway error in the end or in the middle of the flow. Then shared the Power Automate and raised their rights up to Co-Owners on both Apps and SP but still one of the members could not see all the records for some reason, but the other one could finally conduct the Power Automate flows... which was a relief first but still left some doubt on how do I share (if it is even possible) with someone outside of the company for demonstration? I tried to share my app to my personal account to see if it works but was rejected with not found address so gave up.

So if I want to redo my app and make it sharable, how can I do it? How do I know which features are premium and which are not so I can skip the license thing for now with simplier app based on Power Apps,SP (I guess it should NOT be teams site then, right?) and Automate? What do I have to share with each user so they won't encounter Bad Gateway and such?

My apologize for the questions but I failed to find a source that would answer them at one place.

In any case, thank you for your kind consideration!

All premium connectors need premium licenses.

Power Apps premium is a good one to get started to develop demos.

You could create a quick video with Loom or MS Teams to show the capabilities of the Platform.

Record it and you can update it using tools like clipchamp.

You don't have to share the app or solution with others to show the capabilities of the platform.

Not sure what is the issues with sharing the app with your own team. As long as they have licenses for premium connectors then the gateway/on-premises one should work. Provided you grant access to the gateway, app and the data source.

    Hello, Velegandla!

    Thank you for your reply!
I thought pure usage of Power Apps, Share Point and Power Automate (with the flows that only include Microsoft Outlook and standard stuff, no external connectors or anything but Share Point and Power Apps) would not be considered as usage of premium features...am I wrong?
Also, probably I misunderstand the concept and purposes of Power Platform made applications, but from your reply I got a feeling that they are limited by internal (in-company) applications, so are not for external usage hence as long as whole organization has licenses, the sharing between colleagues should not be a problem, is it correct?
In that case I guess you are quite right about the video demo would be better alternative than app sharing.

As for the issues, well, it was in the Approval right of SP - it is only featured in Full access, so I had to create new access group with the edit rights but also approval rights and add my colleagues there.

    You are correct.

If you are using the standard connectors, you donot need premium license for the users.

Canvas Apps can be shared with external users but your external users needs license as well (Either Microsoft 365 or Power Apps) depends on the connectors you are using.

Good luck with your demos. 👍
