I've created a custom form using the Sharepoint integration with Power Apps and the form display in Sharepoint as a pop-up window.

Is there a way to have it open in a right-side panel?
I've found past posts (from 2024) that this is the newly deployed UI with no workaround. I'm wondering if anyone has found a solution in meantime. Another solution I found from 2024 was to switch the list to classic view but this didn't work either.

At the moment, there’s still no supported way to force a SharePoint-integrated Power Apps custom form to open in the classic right-side panel. Microsoft’s newer list experience opens customized forms in a modal/pop-up style UI, and that behavior is controlled by SharePoint rather than Power Apps.

A few things to know:

Switching back to classic view no longer consistently restores the old panel behavior
There’s no Power Apps setting or SharePoint setting to change the customized form display location
The issue has been discussed for a while, but Microsoft hasn’t released a workaround or toggle yet

Possible alternatives:

Use the standard SharePoint form (non-customized) if the side panel experience is important
Build a standalone Power App and embed it on a SharePoint page instead of using SharePoint form customization
Use JSON column formatting with launch() links/buttons to open a separate app experience
