Power Apps per app licensing and one or more Power Automate flows that trigger on Dataverse changes

I have a licensing question. I am building a Model Driven App. The Model Driven App will use 1 or multiple Power Automate flows that will trigger on changes in Dataverse intitiated by the Model Driven App. Do I only need 1 per app license per user, even though I use the Dataverse premium connector in the Power Automate flows?

Thank you

    Hi @RobertSep76,

If the Power Automate Flow is triggered by a data source related to an app, then it's considered in the context of an app and your app users only need the Power Apps Per User or Per Apps license. Make sure to associate the flow to the app following the steps here. The link also provides further examples of what is considered a flow within an app context.

If the owner of the flow is not a user of the app it's tied to, then the flow owner would need a Power Automate per user license, or a per flow license would need to be assigned.

My understanding is that if you use a service principal to connect from Power Automate to Dataverse, then you only need a license for the user who owns the flows.

Here’s how you can set up a service principal account:

check that out. Hopefully that helps.

    Pablo.
