Linking choice/dropdown boxes in Power Apps/Sharepoint

This should be relatively easy I would think but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere that works.

I am building an onboarding approval app and this is the flow and what I'm looking to achieve.

1. Manager fills out a form requesting a user to be setup in our system.  The form get's emailed to HR via deep link.

2. HR opens the link which brings them back to the form in edit mode so they can make any necessary changes.

3. The form has a drop down for HR to approve or reject the form.  If approved, there is another deep link that goes to IT which again goes back to the form.  (These are separate forms on separate screens. There are 3, one for the manager to fill out, one for HR and one for IT)

4. There is a sharepoint list column for "HR Approval Status" and "IT Approval Status"

What I am looking for is when the HR Approval Status choice/dropdown is set to "Approved" and the HR form is submitted, I would like the IT Approval Status to be set to "Pending".  Looking for a way to either link the datacardvalue's or to use a calculated value in sharepoint.

    Hi @bp9 ,

    One way is at the Form OnSuccess

    If(
     Self.LastSubmit.'HR Approval Status' = "Approved",
     Patch(
     SPListName,
     {
     ID: Self.LastSubmit.ID,
     'IT Approval Status': "Pending"
     }
     )
    )

    Tried that but no luck.  I've tried the Patch option previously but cannot get it working with my form for some reason and I can't figure out why.

    I fixed the error on the second part of the screenshot above.  It's the = error that I keep getting that I can't figure out.

    @bp9 ,

    I am suspecting you have a Choice column there

    If(
     Self.LastSubmit.'HR Approval Status'.Value = "Approved",
     Patch(
     SPListName,
     {
     ID: Self.LastSubmit.ID,
     'IT Approval Status': {Value: "Pending"}
     }
     )
    )

    I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong.  The drop downs I was using were inside the form.  Once I removed the dropdowns from the form and created them in the app, patching worked.

    thanks for your assistance.
