Hi all,
Our sharepoint list shows version history for items where no changes were done. In the canvas app, I simply open the edit form and click submit button. It was not doing this before and I haven't changed anything in the app. There is also no flow running in the background.
Do you know where this could come from? Thanks
Hello, I am facing same issue, When an item is created with form submission with attachment, it creates a new version but if there is no attachment, there is no version history. I know how can i fix it but it is really weird.
Interesting! Thanks. No attachments for us but I haven't looked for a while and this hasn't caused any problem for us since, so far so good.
Did you have any attachments? I have found that if I have any attachments, it will show as a version history for each attachment.
Hi Naufal,
I am not sure that I found the solution, I changed the field properties so that the automated value is the default AND update value. For now it seems to work but as it's a random bug I'll wait a few more months before saying it's completely fixed!
Hope that helps
Charlotte
Hello,
Is there any solution for this? I've been experiencing this issue for a few days now and been checking through all my flows and apps.
Do you know if there has been some change in the canvas app features that might impact this?
- As far as I know, there isn't any feature that has changed that could cause it.
If I want to only submit if there is a change, I suppose that would require using the "unsaved" property?
- That's right, if it is false there are no changes
Thanks for your reply, but this was not behaving like this before. I would edit and submit without this creating a new line of version history.
I looked into it because weirdly Canvas app has been randomly blanking a field when submitting:
This is a hidden field so there's no reason why the value would change like this. Do you know if there has been some change in the canvas app features that might impact this?
If I want to only submit if there is a change, I suppose that would require using the "unsaved" property? I've looked into it but this doesn't work well especially for text fields.
Thanks
When you submit a form it will update the item even if you haven't change anything because it will update the columns Modified and Modified By, so if you don't want to those blanks version I suggest you to only submit if there is any change
