Barcode reader working on Android phone, not on Android tablet

I added the barcode reader to my canvas app. When I run the app on my Android phone, barcodes are recognized immediately without any issue.

When I run it on my android tablet, the camera opens, but doesn’t recognize the barcode.  I’ve tried a variety of barcode types, lighting, etc.

 

I attached a screenshot showing it recognized on my phone, and a video showing how I’m trying to recognize it from the tablet. Notice also that the Zoom, Light, and Select controls are enabled on the phone, but not on the tablet.

    Could you try holding the tablet the correct orientation for the App - the barcode reader may not be detecting it while the barcode is sideways
