Update SQL database with Dataverse Dataset

We are trying to use power apps to make edits a SQL database, but I can't find a way to sync those changes back to a SQL database. Is there a way to send these changes made to a Dataverse back to the SQL database or can I just use the SQL database directly with a power app.

Thank you all for any help you can give.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Is this a Canvas or Model Driven App?

Is the data that you want to update ONLY in the SQL or do you need the changes from the App in Dataverse and SQL?

To answer: Yes, you can point your Canvas App directly to SQL, leveraging the SQL Connector / adding SQL Tables directly to your Canvas App (assuming its a Canvas App)

If you need to sync changes from Dataverse to SQL then you have different options.

    1. If these are both in the cloud you could use DSF to sync

    2. You could use Power Automate to sync the changes.

-Any time a row is updated or created in Dataverse, it could trigger a flow that would write those changes into SQL

    3. You could manual export and import into SQL (you can automate this too but it depends on the software or scheduler you use etc.)

There are a bunch of possibilities, but if its minor changes Power Automate is a great option.

    Cheers

    Hello,

There are multiple ways to implement such synchronization:

Hey sorry for the delayed response. But yes, my app is Canvas and I would prefer if the Dataverse and the SQL server were always in sync with each other as I am using this data in a Power BI dashboard and would want the changes that are made to be shown as soon as they are made.

If you want PowerBI to use Dataverse as a datasource why not to query the data directly and remove the dependency on the data sync - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connectors/dataverse

I'm using Analytics services to speed up the processing and to allow it to process more data in power BI.
