So, I'm all read up on the documentation for the Backup & Restore functionality in the Power Platform Admin Center (Back up and restore environments - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn). But I'm still struggling to understand how the search functionality works when trying to find a system backup. 99% of the time I'm trying to search for a system backup, it just throws an error message (see screenshot below).
I understand full backups are taken weekly, differential backups either every 12/24 hours, and transaction log backups every 10 minutes. More details documented here.
Is there any rhyme or reason to the search function? I can set the date and time to as close as to my current date and time as possible, and that sometime produces a result, but how exactly do I know what to input? What if I want a backup closer to one week ago? Whatever date and time I input it throws an error unless I "get lucky" with my date/time selection. It's like spinning a roulette wheel.
Agree with you, Microsoft didn't make this one easier.
You might need to raise a ticket with Microsoft support team and see if they got backup older than 7 days.
Also, managed environments comes with extended backup option of 28 days.
You need set that option manually.
Thought it comes with cost. More Info below on licensing.
