Hi,
Does anyone also have a problem with components not able to read Global Variables (Records Type in my case) ?The problem appears in several apps in my environment since the new release of PowerApps (3.20021.27) but it worked fine in the previous release (3.20014.23)
I haven't open a ticket yet
Thanks
Alexis
I believe this is by design. Components are meant to be used throughout solutions, not in a specific case. You can create an input in your component that you then feed using a variable, but a component itself cannot reference a global variable. Think of them as a completely separate solution. At least this is my understanding.

There's currently some tickets open in which components with an input property set to an external global variable are experiencing issues.
You can file a support ticket or in the interim you can switch the variable to a local variable (UpdateContext). Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yes this used to work until the today. Now the components don't work with global variables.
Hi @alexis @CYoung @Anonymous ,
A fix went out earlier today for this issue. Can you report back if the issue is resolved for you?
yes thank you it is resolved
It seems this issue is back... I'm running version 3.20043.21
The app works fine while editing in PowerApp Studio but in production, the components are unable to read the variable content.
Hi @Anonymous , came across your comment when searching for how to pass a variable to a component. Can you provide any more detail on how to do this? I am setting a global var (MyRole) on app OnStart. I'd like to display that value in a label in my component. I have a Text input custom property and I am passing MyRole in as the value. However, the component shows "MyRole", not the value of the MyRole var. Am I missing something?
@Cooper01
Did you enter "MyRole" or MyRole.Value?
