Creating a download link for a File saved in dataverse

Hi all,

I have this table in the Dataverse, and one of the columns is of a File type.

I'd like to be able to include the link to this attachment in an email, so that the user (with existing access to that table) can immediately see it in a browser. Like Salesforce having that FileDownload link?

Of course, they can go in the Form and click on the document name included in there, but that would be an extra step.

Huge thanks,

Alice

    Hi @AliceW

    This functionality could be achieved using Power Automate where you build this link and then send it as an email.

    Really? How can I build this in Power Automate, please? I already have a flow that sends an email, and this link would be its crowning achievement!

    Hi @AliceW ,

    This might help you get started as it discusses how to get the appropriate URL for your file column.  You should be able to do this type of code in your flow as well when you generate the email setting a variable beforehand and then adding this into the email (I hope).

    Hello Drew,

    Unfortunately, I got this error message...

    {"error":{"code":"0x80060888","message":"Resource not found for the segment 'cr24c_opps'."}}

    Got it! Found a YouTube tutorial. The key (for me) was adding a new step on 'Download'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL_PZKlzo_k&ab_channel=abmabm
