Virtual Tables in Dataverse

Hello,

I created a virtual table in dataverse that is connected to Sharepoint.

This is the table on Sharepoint.

Screenshot (42).png

I tried connecting it using the virtual entity data source which is located: in Advanced Settings-> Administration -> Virtual entity data source -> New (Virtual connector Data provider)

Screenshot (41).png

The entity Catalog for this Sharepoint connector appears in the dataverse but there is no data found in the table.

I have also added the table to a model-driven app and while creating a new record in the virtual table it throws a plugin issue. (I have attached the error log)

Is there something I have missed? Could you please advise how can we solve it?

Thank you!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Mhmdbaba ,

Did you follow this approach?  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/data-platform/virtual-entities/create-virtual-tables-using-connectors?tabs=sharepoint

It looks like you missed steps 4 and 5 below...

You need to follow the steps:

    1.  Create Connector

    2.  Create Connector Reference

    3.  Create Entity Catalog

    4.  Create model app for the Entity Catalog and then select the appropriate SharePoint list

    5.  Create virtual table from the selected which will actually create the virtual table

    6.  Now you should see the data and you can add columns to the forms / views, add to model app etc.

    I did all these steps.

When creating the Virtual table, the primary key is not showing.

I have watched this video and followed the steps carefully.

When assigning the primary key, the drop box appears to be empty.

    Hi @Mhmdbaba ,

Just did in my environment and it appears to have worked to allow me to select the ID from my list.

    I would try the following:

    1. Create another Connection Reference to your SharePoint connection
    2. Go through the step of adding the entity catalog again with the Virtual Connector Data Provider with that new connection reference selected
    3. This should create a new entity catalog
    4. Try creating your virtual entity from it again and see if you get the ID

Did you get this to work?

I've followed the directions and do not see the Primary ___ fields on the form.

Tried from a couple of different lists, which resulted in the app showing the Virtual Entity Name and nothing else.  Started over and tried to use a different site with fewer lists, but I got the same result.

I've run into the same issue. Though mine, worked for a few months and all of a sudden I'm getting the same error message. It would be nice to be able to see an error log or something but I can't seem to find anything.

I'm going to be recreating the virtual table and hope that it's not a reliability issue. I do have virtual tables to on-premise SQL and those are working fine.
