Guide to open a form as a modal dialog in a model driven app??

Hi guys,

I am looking for a guide to modify how a form loads on screen. The " +New Jaarlijk Budget" button opens up the "Jaarlijk Budget" form that is related to the Cursists record i have opened.

I would like to have the form to open as a side panel or modal dialog (instead of fullscreen) but i can not seem to find a guide that demonstrates  how to do this.

Picture underneath shows what i am trying to achieve.

Anyone has a guide/blog that they can share me that explains how to achieve this?

Best Regards,

Anthony

    Hey,

You can add a quick create form.

    • In solution, switch to classic
    • Select the Table for which you want to enable quick create form
    • Scroll and under "Data Service" heading, check "Allow quick create". save and close.

    • Then, Table>forms>add form, create a form.

    • Then add the respective subgrid. On adding a new record, side panel will open up.

    Hope it helps. 🙂

    Hi @VaralikaB ,

First of all thank you for the help.

I added a QuickCreate form to the table "jaarlijks budget". This is the table in the subgrid where i want the side panel tot pop up when i click "New." Although i added the quick create form, when i click "New" in the subgrid it still opens up in a new window.

How does the model driven app knows when to load witch form? Or if you click "New" in a subgrid does it automatically takes the QuickCreate Form?

    Best Regards,

    Anthony

    Hey, @Anthony_Dob ,

Can you confirm if you have checked the required forms in App Designer?

After selecting the forms, you should be able to see the side panel instead of a full screen form.

    Hope this resolves the issue.

    Regards,

    Varalika

    @VaralikaB

Somehow it now works. Delay in the changes coming through maybe?

    Best Regards,

    Anthony
