Cannot delete Dataverse table column

I have created a custom Dataverse table in my Environment, and added a few columns, the added some data. One column is a simple text column, but I cannot delete it, even though there is no data in it. It says there is a dependent object, which appears to be the default "Information" form. How can I simply delete this unwanted column?

you need to remove the column from the form first

I opened the form and got to this location.  I selected the column i want to remove, then if I hover over "Delete", it says "Delete element."  Is that the proper location to just delete a single column?

yes, delete from the form, after save and publish the form, when you back to the column you will not have the dependency and it will allow you to delete the column

Thank you, that worked! Not sure why Microsoft makes it so difficult to delete a column.

when you create a column, it is not automatically added to forms or views, the user needs to add to the form/view intentionally.

The system checks if the column is used, otherwise you will be able to delete columns that are used inside processes that may you are not aware exist. This is one of the reasons there is a dependency check.

Strange, I did not intentionally add any columns to a form. In fact, I did not even know about forms until I saw your response. It is possible that I inadvertently clicked somewhere to add a column (or multiple columns) to the Information form, but if so, I do not know how I implemented that. Anyway, thanks for the solution, in case this comes up again. This should help others also as I have seen multiple posts on this same subject.
