Automatic notification in Microsoft Team when an app is shared with you

We recently discovered that Microsoft Teams push a notification when an application is shared to a user, inclusive when "Send an email invitation to new users" is uncheck 👇

Have you notice this behavior? In our case we want to avoid these notifications.. Apps are shared before formally communicating it. I didn't find documentation on how to disable this feature.

Regards

I have the same question (0)

We've noticed the same thing over the past few weeks but so far can't see any way of preventing these notifications.

We have noticed this as well today, and I tried to find something official in case of changed tenant setting or anything else and beside this topic I was only able to find out that this is "works-as-designed" due the default enabled App notification settings within Microsoft Teams if the Teams App "Power Apps" (for me its Version 0.7 currently) is added to your Teams client (Desktop as well as web app):

So, the solution is then each user needs to configure those notifications... 😑

We also can't see any way of preventing these notifications, maybe it possible with powershell? Does anyone have any experience? It would be nice if MS would take care of it!

I think I've found a workaround for the issue. If you share the app with a Security group made in Azure Entra ID members don't get the notification about the new app shared with them but get access to it (in my case access took around ~10 minutes). I've noticed it works both for Security Groups and Microsoft 365 groups but with Microsoft 365 groups users added get notification about being added to the group, so a no go in many situations.

Either way It really shouldn't be as complicated and it should be a standard checkbox when sharing the app same as with the email notification.

Hope I could help someone with that
