"Could not download the file" from attachment control

Hi Everybody,

I'm having a very similar issue to Couldn't download the file - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com), but unfortunately that didn't include the solution: I have an app that has an attachment control in it. The majority of the users is able to download files without issues, but there's a few that just can't. This is independent of OS, browser, file, permissions, etc. The only common point of failure are the users:

Hope anybody has some suggestions on where to look next.

I managed to figure out the issue and it WAS in the permissions:

In line with Prevent people from accessing SharePoint list that... - Page 2 - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com) I restricted access to some of the users.

It turns out that unselecting "Open Items  -  View the source of documents with server-side file handlers" causes the attachment control to fail. After enabling this for the permission level, users were again able to use the control properly.

    Hi @alrez ,

Unfortunately the impacted users have the exact same permissions as the rest of the users that don't have issues.

Can you advise how to capture a browser trace?

    Hi,

Without any ideas on what the actual error getting throw it, it is hard to say what exactly needs to be looked at. If its only certain users, I would guess that its a permissions issue. But I cant be sure with this information. I would recommend grabbing a browser trace of the issue and seeing if that yields any more information. If you still need help from there I would probably recommend opening a ticket with Microsoft Support.

If you would like to create a ticket with Microsoft Customer Support here is a link on how to do so: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/get-help-support

    Regards,

    Alex
