Hi Members,

have a requirement in Power Apps where I want to integrate Microsoft Stream video to Power Apps

Scenario:

In my Microsft Stream, I have added a video as shown below:

Microsoft Stream Eroor.jpg

I have created a Power Apps canvas app and then added a Microsoft Stream control -> Set its StreamUrl property to the above video URL:

Microsoft Stream Error 1.jpg

But the video is not displayed and facing an error like "Microsoft stream looks like the URL provided isn't valid stream URL"

Microsoft Stream Error 2.jpg

Can anyone please suggest how I can resolve this? Thanks in advance!

    Hello @Hemashree,

There are limitations with that control. You can read about them here Microsoft Stream video control in Power Apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

You need to check if you're using powerapps mobile and permissions on stream. You can also consider an action that redirects to the stream site and also review that end-users have proper access to it.

Hope this helps clarify the doubt, let me know in case you're still facing an issue within it.

    Hello @Hemashree,

Unfortunately, the url won't work unless it's using the stream(classic) version url. As there was an update which deprecated it, won't be a good idea to use it. Currently, the new version is stream (on sharepoint) which doesn't provide when sharing a stream url so the stream control in powerapps won't work. Not sure when they'll focus again on updating the stream control as it's not on the roadmap for releases.

As alternative, you can include a button and use the Launch function to redirect to the url. That will work fine.

To get the url, got to microsoft365 and open the stream app. Once there, look for the video and hove over it and click on the share icon or more options and got to share which will display the copy link option.

Once you click on it, it will display the option to copy the url which you will use on powerapp and also settings where you can adjust the permissions. Please, validate on the settings the proper access and you can also restrict the download of the video.

You can also use the video control, but I won't suggest it as for that you have to upload videos which will increase the size of the app and lead to performance degradation.

Hope this helps clarify the doubt, let me know in case you're still facing an issue within it.

In Power Apps the most current version, you should be able to insert under Media >> Stream (Preview).

    Capture.PNG

    Now to get the URL:

    1. Open your Stream (on SharePoint) video.

    2. Select Share > Embed code.

      embed-url-image.png

    3. Copy the URL starting from https:// to the UniqueId= including the Unique ID numbers. sample-embed-code.png

In your Power App, paste that URL in the property of StreamUrl.

    That's it. 🙂

Ensure you're using the new control called Stream (Preview) and not the old one that is deprecated.

If you're still seeing the old one. It means you have "Modern controls and themes" disabled.
