Data Flows Query Auto Steps

I am trying to create a data flow using an excel spreadsheet from a folder.  When it uploads into the dataflow and I click "save and close", additional steps such as "change type" and "replace values" appears which impacts my desktop report that I'm trying to convert to the dataflow location.

I have the same question (0)

Can you share a screenshot?  What are the Change Type and Replace Values steps trying to do with you data? Perhaps it's normalizing data types so you don't get errors, but you should be able to remove those steps if you don't want them.

When I imported the query, I added the step "Promoted headers", but when I save and close, the other 3 steps pop up.  I've deleted them several times and they keep coming back.

Can you share the actions of each step? What values is it trying to replace? what data type is it trying to change and which column?  Just want to see if it's a normalization effort by PowerQuery or something that shouldn't appear.

These are the step details.  It may be trying to normalize the data I guess?  It's not showing that it's really changing the data from what I can see.

Yea that's exactly it - that first screenshot is simply making all your columns text columns. That is ok and you can transform to anything else.

The second screenshot is replacing any errors it received from transforming to text columns with "null". Also OK.

The final screenshot is just renaming one column that had an extra space at the end to remove that extra space.

You should be good with these transformations but feel free to add more if you want to change data type of specific columns or handle errors differently.
