How to force format on an editable datepicker?

I have a date picker using the format "mm/dd/yyyy". I want them to be able to type in their date into the date picker, so I set "IsEditable" to true. This allows them to type into the date picker, but it does not force them to use the "mm/dd/yyyy" format. Is it possible to do so?

    Hi @NMatGWM2 ,

    I am not sure what you mean here - it needs to be a valid date, which in your region is mm/dd/yyyy (which is unique with the rest of the world BTW) - what else are they typing in ?

    I think it's along the lines of:

    I was hoping that Power Apps Phone Number Formatting In A Form (Input Mask) (matthewdevaney.com) could be modified to accommodate similar functionality for the date picker. I couldn't work it out.

    @ChrisMendoza ,

    There are so many variations of what a user might type in if you go down that track, however the bigger problem is that a manually entered date does not trigger the OnChange event as .SelectedDate only refers to date selected from the calendar and you cannot test the entered date for anything.

    @WarrenBelz - yup, I realized that issue. What is interesting, or rather what I learned in looking at this is that while it seems the user has entered a valid date the value isn't actually captured because Format = "mm/dd/yyyy". I would suppose you would want an error flag notification to notify the user that the data is incorrect preventing them from continuing alongside with 'helper text' to show them what format they should be using.

    @ChrisMendoza ,

    Much easier if we all used the same date format . .
