Custom App - After user submits, do not open SharePoint List

(1) ShareShare

Posted on by 6
I created a custom app using a SharePoint List.

After a user saves/submits the app, I do not want the SharePoint List to show up in the browser tab, I just want it to close.

I can't implement how it works now as the customer experience would be confusing.

I have searched and searched everywhere for a solution and I'm not finding anything.

Any help would be appreciated. Not sure if this is the correct Forum to post, if not, I'm sorry.

Firstly, there is no command available to Power Apps to close the browser tab. If you do not want the user to see any data, have a SharePoint view filtered to either show none, or have a record showing only a field that says close the tab.

    HI,

If I can ask, why is SharePoint opened in the first place in the tab?

Is this a Custom App, or a Custom SharePoint Form?

Sorry about this, I can't figure out how to reply to the individual responses.

If I can ask, why is SharePoint opened in the first place:
I send a link to the form to the user's email.  They click the link and it opens the form to fill out.  They hit submit to save.  When the form closes, it opens to the SharePoint list.

When I answer that question, it does make logical sense why it opens the SharePoint list after they submit.

Is this a Custom App, or a Custom SharePoint Form?
Custom SharePoint Form, built from the SharePoint List.

Yesterday, I was going to try to build a custom app from a spreadsheet, which was going okay - then I received messages about licensing, so I decided that since the SharePoint form is 99% ready for production, I wasn't going to open another can of worms.

I did play around with adding a screen that said "your form was submitted", but it didn't close the SharePoint list "tab".  I wasn't sure how to add the functionality to that screen or if I could.  I do like the idea about the SharePoint view being filtered to show none of the documents and a field about closing the tab.  I will definitely play around with that today.

    Hi  Shylah D
I think that will work for you. What you are doing however is really designed for a deep-linked Canvas App.
