DataSourceInfo.MaxLength returning nothing

Hello

Please be so kind as to read my full post before responding.
Thank you for your consideration.

In my PowerApps retrieving MaxLength (for Text fields) via DataSourceInfo from Dynamics/CDS does not seem to be working anymore.
I only get empty results.
Last checked with

PowerApps 3.19061.14
Instance version 9.1.0.5426

Even with something like a standard User Entity I get nothing

How do I get MaxLength back?

What is the state of the feature switch "Improve data source experience and Common Data Service views" for your app?
What happens if you change it? In my experience it changes some MaxLength behavior.

It was on.
It was during an App in day I presented at. This setting is by default nowadays for every new app.
Haven't tried it with the setting switched of though.

Is the switch "Improve data source experience and Common Data Service views" turned on or off?
Do you see the same behavior if you create a new app from scratch?

Thanks, you were right that the "Improve Data Source experience and Commond Data Service Views" feature was the missing part.
With a fresh App this is on be default and it works.
In my orignal older App it isn't turned on and it doesn't work

Just out of curiosity I disabled the feature in my fresh App, after removing data sources, and added my data sources again.
Without this feature, in a fresh App, DataSourceInfo.MaxLength does not work.

Moreover, toggling this feature requires removal and re-adding all data sources, potentially breaking my App elsewhere in the meantime... not sure I'll go through that experience with hundreds of controls missing their data sources and the App Checker going haywire...

Hi

There also has been a fix rolled out sometime around December 4 (checked after info from MindTree support).
Now DataSourceInfo.MaxLength seems to work again irrespective of "Improve data source experience and Common Data Service views"
