the work account is not to be used outside of work hours and i dont have a school account, so... how am i supposed to learn?
You can join Microsoft Developer Program that allows you to create a developer sandbox that you can leverage to sign up for Power Platform Developer subscription.

Power Apps Developer Plan: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/developerplan/
Make sure you use your personal account when signing up for Microsoft Developer Program and after your developer sandbox is created, sign up for Power Apps Developer Plan with the new Developer Program credential that will be created for you.
If you are new to Power Platform, I suggest you sign up for Power Up Program that will guide you through and will provide certification and exposure opportunities. https://powerup.microsoft.com/
