When using the app 'Milestones' in Teams is it possible to copy a project i.e. the milestone names and timings to save having to type these out every time?

Thanks

I agree! This app would be the perfect balance between MS Project and MS Planner, but, without the ability to copy a project as a template, this is not usable for the hundreds of projects I need to manage. It is now too tedious to make all the many milestones, work items, categories, statuses, etc for each new project over and over. I need to setup a new project in minutes not hours. Does anyone know if this feature is coming or how to customize the app to copy a project as a template? Maybe somehow copy the metadata on the back end? Anyone? Beuller, Beuller...

Completely agree!! We would love to be able to duplicate projects from a template and make slight changes to them rather than create the ENTIRE project from scratch! Hopefully this is in development!

Only came across this the other day but with project templates and a better connection to ToDo this would be amazingly useful.

It's been five months since the first comment on copying a project.  Subsequent commenters have echoed the same thought.  Is there a timeline on the ability to copy a project?  Given that I almost gave up prior to commenting, I would think there are many more people with the same request.  Since there are no comments back from the developers, are these comments and questions equivalent to yelling into a stiff breeze?

The reasoning behind this request is time savings in rolling forward last year's project cycle.  Next year's project cycle is essentially this year's project cycle with a few customizations.

Additionally, is there a timeline to copy a work-item too? An example recurring work item such as "Bank Rec 1" could be increased by "1" for a total of 12 occurrences?

Thanks in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.

I've just stumbled upon Milestone and I think it looks really useful.

However, within minutes I spotted the very same issue everyone else is feeding back.

Microsoft, can you please advise when this function could be made available, or even if it is being worked on?

I have to be honest there is a pattern here. I've periodically looked deeper into Teams over the years to see if the 'improvements' that have been made could make it a useful platform for all my organisational needs, but every time I find something that I think looks great and useful, it turns out it's only been half developed...again!

Can we please have the apps finished and fully functional, so we can all get on board in a bigger way?

Surely that's got to be the aim for Microsoft?

    Dan,

    Use Planner instead.

    Best,

100% echo these sentiments. I find the whole idea of "submit an idea" to be a frustrating, fruitless waste of time. Unless someone else takes the time to go in and vote for the idea, and enough votes happen, it seems like good ideas go to waste. This seems like a very simple addition to the app and would make it worth using.

From a customer experience perspective, how long should a suggestion be out there, before it is poor service not to respond?

    Hi, James,

I don't see an app simply called "planner." I see "Tasks by Planner and To Do" and that is not nearly rich enough. Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help. Brand new to teams and no one in the org is familiar with it, so I am doing my best to cobble things together 😄

"Tasks by Planner and To Do" is what you're looking for.
