I am building a stakeholder database for my programme. 95% of those stakeholders are internal and already exist in both the AAD table and User table.
Adding in those same people to the contact table without linking them, duplicates their email address in the model driven app. Meaning there is one email address you can hover over and see their contact info, documents they work on etc, the other is just a flat email address that warns me they are 'outside my organisation' which obviously they are not.
I need to be able to track emails, events and any interactions with the stakeholders, but I cant do this with user table as timeline is turned off, and I am going round in circles trying to simply move people from the user table into my contact table.
I've tried running a data import where I've set 'primary email' as a lookup into the user table. This pulls them into my table, however if I try to send an email or calendar event from timeline, it cant pick up any email address and so fails.
I've tried adding the email addresses into the contact table manually, but this duplicates the contact and when using Dynamics 365 for outlook, it doesn't link the sender of the email to the email address within the contact table, because its linking them to the user table. HELP.
Appreciate any help with this - its keeping me up at night!
