Dataverse correctly connected to sql db via gateway cannot retrive data

Hello,

i've set up a gateway to access my SQL DB server on prem.

I can retrieve the tables list inside my power platform make portal.

System automatically set the list of columns and add the table into the list of my table, also creating my virtual table:

but the system is not able to retrieve data:

I also have checked and the SQL table has only one key column.

Which controls do i have to perform?

Any help?

Thank you for any support!

Giovanni

@Gprior in virtual tables the primary column must be of type GUID, do you have in your database a column that is of type GUID to be the primary key in the Dataverse?

    Thank you @Michaelfp !

I changed my approach completely, using an existing dataverse master table and using a power automate triggered by new or changed records from the sql table (the one I would like to read directly but am unable to do so) to update the records in my dataverse entity.

However, I am wondering how to set up as you suggested for future reference; my doubt is related to the fact that I have not been able to set up any field structure information in my dataverse:

As you can see below, I cannot set my primary key with the "ID" column (which is my GUID), but it automatically sets the CKY_ART column, which is perhaps why I had problems using this table:

    could it be?

Thank you for any help or suggestion!

@Gprior in your DB which type are ID and CKY_ART? Because as you can see on the document, Dataverse will chose the primary key.

But I think is because of the type of these columns Dataverse is doing the wrong choice. If you but another field as primary field, the primary key don't change?

exactly! I can't change the pointing of the key column... but I suspect it's a readout that it does directly from the SQL database!!!

I found this information last night:

Even if data in table is like this (ID/GUID is available):

    Gprior_1-1717491705524.png

So i think i should work directly on the table; unfortunately i'm not allowed to change such structure so for the moment i will go as i told you above with the power automate! However, good to know, i'll update this thread in the next week!

Thank you for your help @Michaelfp !!!!
