Unable to put forms into groups

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I don't know if something has changed since the last update, but I cannot put Forms into Groups anymore. Usually when I try to insert a form into a group its placed outside of the group, and I then have to cut and paste into group. This doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Anyone having similar issues?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

I've made a similar test and met the same problem like your description.

If I cut and paste a gallery to an existing group, it will not be added inside the group.

I suggest you ungroup the existing group, and then choose the controls that you want to combine(include the gallery), group again.

Here's a similar issue for your reference:

Thanks for your reply. This doesn't work for me. If I hold ctrl and select the form and then select another item to group with, it unselects the form.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you show me your screenshoots?

I've tested and could select form and other controls when grouping.723.PNG

Not sure what to show you really as I cannot select a form and another object it just deselects it. This is me just testing on a blank screen with a button and a form. All I could show you is a picture of a form selected by itself, as that's all I can do.

Could it be one of the settings in my app, maybe?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Sorry that I did not think about this.

    Please turn this off:(file->app settings->advanced settings)7233.PNG

If this toggle is on, then form can not be added in a group.

Tried this but still cannot select a form and another item. It just deselects the form.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    That's strange.

In my test, only the setting that I mentioned will lead to this problem. Other tests all work well.

I've found a similar issue about this for your reference:

I will report this problem to my product team and if there's any improvement I will reply here.

Yes sounds similar only I cannot get as far as selecting a form and another object.

    Thanks for your help 🙂

It does actually work (selecting a form and another control), if I select the controls in the TreeView on the left. It's just selecting the actual control on the main screen that has stopped working.

    Thanks again 🙂
