Rendering (C) in the bot and New Line Stripping

Need help with with a couple of issues with rendering in the message box.

1. I want to display '501(C) 3' in the message box which I typed in but the bot renders '501© 3' which is not right

2. The bot strips all new lines at the end of a list resulting in the next paragraph butting right into the list. I want to have a blank line between the end of the list and the start of the next line of text.

Use markdown to render the message as plain text. It will also respect line breaks:
