Download failed in Power Query

Hi everyone,

since the last Office update to version 2405 (Build 17628.20110), some Power Queries we are using are experiencing the error “Error during download” (not 100% if this is the correct translation as my Excel is in German - I attached the screenshot though).

No errors are displayed in the preview (and the preview is updated correctly). So far, the queries worked perfectly. For a colleague who still has the previous version 2404, the queries also work without any problems.
This error does not occur every time when you try to import the data (but it occurs quite frequently).

Is there anything known that may have caused an error? Does anyone have any ideas on how to get power query working properly again? Unfortunately, Excel does not give any real information about where the error is during the download. As I said, the preview in the Power Query Editor is also updated correctly.

Thanks a lot
Daniel

Okay, I changed the language of my MS office. The error is shown as "Download failed". Again: No errors are shown in the editor. Refresh preview is showing the correct data.

    Yup, I'm the same.

Existing queries say "download failed", I can create new queries, and I can update them once or twice, but then I get the same error message.

ok, I tried something and it worked for me.

When I created a new query and went into the "advanced editor" to look at it, I noticed that the first line looked different. I copied the line of code from the new query into the old ones, and it worked, they now refresh as normal.

This should be another issue. My power queries normally work but from time to time they don't. The code in the "advanced editor" is always the same. But sometimes it returns "Download failed."

I am having this exact issue. My company applied an update today and now my queries load in the editor but will not load to excel/throw a download failed error. Is this an error with the most recent update?

Yes, most likely. The problem occured with the update to version 2405. I have colleagues who are still running 2404 and they don't have this problem (they use the same excel worksheet with the same queries but for them they are working fine).

I'm also having the same issue.  I have multiple queries in one workbook and some will load but the others won't load and will show a "download failed" message despite not having any errors...
