Lookup table column issue. Searching does not find any records, but if I click enter when the search field is empty, it lets me browse all records.

Hi.

I'm trying to make a form with search functionality to pick between a predefined list of countries. I have added the form to my app, however when I try to search for any of the countries in my Dataverse country table, it says "No records found". However, if I use the browse functionality (clicking enter when search field is empty) it displays a complete list of the countries I have created.

    Hello @CGrunberg

Please share a screenshot of your app and annotate the part where you are searching and where the results are showing. This is so we can suggest the right answer.

Also, please confirm if you are using a ComboBox or a DropDown.

    Hello @cha_cha

Thank you for getting back to me. I do not have the option of ComboBox or DropDown in the tab of input components. I can only see the following:

    • Business card reader
    • CC_OptionSet_Name
    • Checkbox
    • Form
    • Number Input
    • Pen input
    • Rich Text Editor Control
    • Star Rating
    • Toggle

Therefore, I tried simply adding the table column with lookup type to a section. Perhaps this is the underlying issue? Would you know why I cannot see the options of DropDown and ComboBox?

Another question I have is that I cannot see the function-bar.

    Hello @CGrunberg

Is this a model driven app?

    Hello @CGrunberg

Can you confirm that the Searchable option is ticked for that column?

    Hello @cha_cha

Yes, I've tried to make both the primary name column and the lookup-column searchable. And I have also ensured that the string I am searching for exists in both of these columns.

    Hello @CGrunberg

Can you screenshot what's showing up when you search?

I have created a couple of LookUp columns and I couldn't replicate your case.

    Hello @cha_cha

First screenshot displays what happens when I search for a specific country, e.g. Afghanistan. My search string is 'Afgha' and here we see a message "No records found. Create a new record."

In the next screenshot I have deleted the search string and simply pressed 'enter' to browse. Here we see, that Afghanistan definitely is a possible string to search for. Therefore, I cannot figure out, why it doesn't display when I search for it.
