Hi Team,
To integrate the power apps with sql database we have used the on-premise gateway. After configuring the gateway in our machines, we are not able to see the gateway information in the power app drop down. Can it be the any issue mentioned below.
1. The region of the on-premise gateway and power app environment should be same?
2. Do we require any special license to connect to the database (we already have Tenant license).

Please mention if there are any other reasons.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

What dropdown do you mean? You need to configure a connection to the database, through the gateway. That connection will allow to see the SQL tables.

Yes, they need to be in the same region and also notice that you have setup a user in the gateway configuration.

Hi. You will never see the gateway server from Power Apps. You need to do the next:

    A) Create a connection from On-premises datagateway server to the sql server database.
    B) From Power Apps, you need to use the SQL connector and configure the connection to the sql server database.

My answers for your two questions.

    1. Yes, both must be in the same region.
    2. Yes, when you use any premium connector, you need a premium license for each user. The SQL connector is premium (SQL Server - Connectors | Microsoft Learn):
