Unable to add user to environment

I'm attempting to add a user to an environment.

  1. The user is a member of the security group assigned to this environment
  2. They have all the required licenses assigned
  3. Definitely enabled in Azure AD as he's logging on and doing work.

When attempting to add this user, I get:

I have the same question (0)

Just had a thought.. by licenses, this user has E3 only. Does he need a license which covers premium content to access the environment with CDS? I thought that was only if they were using connectors within Flows or apps which used Premium content?

sigh.. answered my own question.  Needs a premium license to even access the environment.

What do they need to access in the environment?

If it is the CDS or an app connected to the CDS then that is premium however, if you have an app in that environment that is not using CDS or premium features, then you should be able to share the app with them direct and not add to the environment like you are doing.

They should then still be able to access and work with that app. They just can't have a security role in CDS.

I hope that makes sense, let me know if not.
