New Portal in Demo Environment Error Provisioning

Hello,

My team just created a new demo environment and copied one environment (our source) over to our new one. However, the the Power App Portal from our source did not copy over to our new. I read online in documentation that you need to create a to create a new portal within the target environment to back up and can from an existing Power Apps portal to transfer over the configuration. When we tried to do this we received this error:

"A problem occurred while provisioning this portal. Please try resetting the portal. If the problem continues, contact Microsoft support."

What can we do set up a demo portal in our new environment?

Hi, there are two steps involved in what you need

1 - provision the new portal

2 - copy the portal data over to the new portal

when you provision a new portal you should have at least the vanilla Portal in your environment.. did you get the part working? can you share snapshots?

I have attempted to create multiple portals with no success. What specific permissions do I need to be able to add/delete portals from an environment?

Hi @mckod

As @OliverRodrigues mentioned, provision the new blank portal in the target environment. Then you can perform the migration to the target environment.

Permissions required: You need to be a "System administrator". official reference below

I assume you are using the configuration migration tool for migration.

I copied an environment from my source environment and then I attempted to first to create a new portal from an existing website record. The portal provisioning failed unfortunately.

As mentioned, try creating the blank portal first without selecting the existing website record. Then use the tools to migrate.
