Copilot Studio agents do not behave like full design or image‑creation tools by default. If your agent is only producing abstract or geometric visuals, that is expected unless image generation is explicitly enabled.
Image generation only works for Microsoft 365 Copilot declarative agents when the “Create images” (GraphicArt) capability is turned on in the agent configuration. Even then, it won’t work in the Copilot Studio test pane, it only works when the agent runs inside Microsoft 365 Copilot (for example, Copilot Chat or Teams Copilot).
Prompt wording does matter once image generation is enabled. Very general prompts like “create a poster” tend to default to abstract visuals. More descriptive prompts (illustrated, cartoon, playful, photorealistic, etc.) produce better results, but only if image generation is actually supported and enabled.
Copilot Studio is not intended to replace Microsoft Designer for marketing‑quality assets. If you need polished flyers, posters, or PDFs with themed visuals, Microsoft Designer / Copilot Create is still the recommended tool, and you can then upload or reference those images in your agent.
