Hello,

I added field from SharePoint list to form.

When try to rename field on the form, getting the error:

The requested rename failed unexpectedly. Please try again.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Could you please share more details? How did you rename the filed? Which property on what control did you do on the form?

I tried to rename text input field inside the card element on the form.
To rename DataCardValue32 to txtContToKnowRepo

Hi @vladanoei ,

I cannot reproduce this issue, any DataCardValue control name can be modified on my end. Are you able to edit other control names in this form?

Rename field was working before, for selected element inside the form
but currently NOT working.
For the test I try to change name for the field txtDeliveryQuality to txtDeliveryQuality1 and this is NOT working.
All anthers controls in the screen, outside the form renamed successfully, but controls inside the form cannot be renamed.

Hi @vladanoei ,

If you add a new Edit form on this screen, can this be done on these new controls? Perhaps you can also change authoring version to a previous one and have a try.

On the new form on the same screen everything is working fine.
But to be honest, this is a workaround, not a real solution.
We need to know why this is not working on the form that was first added to the screen and how it happened and if it happens in the future how to fix it.
Anyway, thanks for the workaround.

Is it possible to reopen Accepted solution?
On the NEW form when I try to rename already renamed text field again the same error.
I make error when rename field on the first rename (copy/paste error)
I tried to rename field named "num" to "numIndividualWork"
After this
Rename any fields on this form isn't work.

I still suspect it's related to authoring version. Which version are you using now? If change to the recommended, would it help?

Was there ever a fix on this? Having this exact problem on a SPO Customized List Power App. All past versions of the App have the same problem. Form works. Name changes to controls produce this error. So far just this App. But looks like this is happening elsewhere.

Update: I have discovered that this error is only on the form (name changes outside the form have no error). Also, this error stops once you get the datacards down to 17 cards. Add another card for any field after 17 and the error comes back
