Copilot for generative response with files greater than 3 mb on sharepoint

I'm working on a solution, where our files and documents exceed 3 mb on sharepoint, at the moment we come across that Microsoft copilot is unable to work with files greater than 3 mb.
So, is there any workarounds or any solutions that will soon be added to Copilot, allowing to work with data greater than 3 mb on sharepoint?

Make two files instead of one file.

Mark as solution if it helps.

Generative answers can process uploaded documents that are up to 512 MB in size.  If you are facing challenge, suggest raising ticket

HiSummitKumar, I have updated my post, my query is files on sharepoint which are greater than 3mb. I had also looked at the documentation that clearly mentions that 3mb is the limit.

Hence, my query if there is a workaround for it or if there is any update plan that will improve this limitation.

Hisandeepstw, Yes I'm aware that chunking of files could solve this issue to some extent, but I currently have large set of documents and files, chunking doesn't seem to be the right solution.

I don't think there is an alternative solution apart from chunking tbh.

    Hi,
You could upload documents to Dataverse (from SharePoint) automatically, overcoming that problem of the file size. Here's an excellent video on how to do that: How to automatically upload files to Generative Answers with Power Automate from SharePoint - YouTube

The only problem here is that all copilot users could access all the uploaded files in SharePoint, so mainly the copilot wouldn't care if the user has permissions on that file in SharePoint.

    Hope that helps!
