Hello,

This question is of combination of SharePoint list and PowerApps.

In the SharePoint Lists there is a button to extract all the data in to Excel file. Like below.

I am building an Application in PowerApps, where i want to add a button as 'Extract Data'. On click, i want the same action to be executed similar as i click on 'Export to Excel' button as shown above.

I watched this video of Shane but it is for more complex requirements. But i just need all the list items to be extracted in to an excel file.

Can anyone please help how to do that?

Regards,

So exporting to spreadsheet can take a while depending on how many records are in the app, so my preference is to do it via a background process so the user isn't tied up while the data exports.

Use power automate and write the data to a spreadsheet in one-time, then have the flow notify the user via email, and, push notification, or sending a message back to the app that the export is done with a link to download the spreadsheet

    Hello @jlindstrom,

I got a workaround for the same. Below the steps.

    1. I clicked on the Export to Excel button in the Sharepointist.

    2. After clicking, one query file is created.

    3. I downloaded the files and uploaded in the the same site in a folder.

    4. Copied the link of the file.

    5. Embedded the link in the button in PowerApps using Launch() function.

    That's it.!!

Now when the user is clicking on the button, all the list contents are getting downloaded in excel file without using any flow etc.!

Still, thanks for your suggestion. !!

if i do the above, again it is referring to download the query, not the data.
