Power Apps- Use Buttons to Navigate to different screen depending on data card dropdown selection

I am creating an app that allows users to submit requests for approver changes for a cost center (financial account).

I have 3 screens in my app:

1)Start Screen- includes name, priority, and request type. Request types are either "Create cost center" or "Update cost center".

2) Create cost center screen with a submit button

3)Update cost center screen with a submit button.

How do I get the next button on Screen 1 to navigate to screen 2 or 3 depending on the request type selection?

    is the request type a drop down or a combo box?

    you can try this:

    If(
     Dropdown1.Selected.Value = "Update cost center",
     Navigate(CreateCostScreen, ScreenTransition.Cover),
     Navigate(UpdateCostScreen, ScreenTransition.Cover)
    )

    For the updating/saving you just need to use Submitform(formname)

    you need to replace the Dropdown1 with the actual name of your drop down control and the screen names at the bottom also need to be renamed to your needs

    It is giving an error line under Selected.Value. Also when testing, nothing happens.

    you need the Datacardvalue in your formula corresponding to your datacard here

    Okay I updated that to match. Still no actions when testing though.

    as you can see in my screenshot above each datacard has a few lets call it subvalues. In your case, cause you are using a form you need the Datacardvalue of your Dropdown.

    As you can see on this screenshot the first "layer" is the screen, then u have an icon (u can ignore that) and then you have the form (here called form 1). On the form itself you have a few Datacards as mentioned above.

    Basically for every input control you have on your form you have a Datacard. When you click on Datacardvalue on the left, you will see that in your form the dropdown will be highlighted. So in the code itself you need to reference the datacardvalue of your RequestType column. You can see the DatacardValue and others like StarVisible etc. when you click on the arrow left of the name.

    if you need more assistance, send a screenshot

    in your second screenshot you can see, that you used DatacardKey instead od DatacardValue 🙂
