Search data within a Canvas App

Good afternoon,

I've been building an app intended for front line users to use in the field on their mobile devices. I love all the features in Canvas App to build it as a functional and aesthetically pleasing app. But! I have one issue.

I'd like to create a search that searches within the Canvas app - not anything external. It seems like all the items I search want you to search an external sharepoint or excel. I want to search within the Canvas app itself and direct them to where ever that word was found.

Is there a function for this?

Thanks!

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish. Power Apps is just a User Interface layer on top of some kind of data source. The data source can be a local collection but is usually something like SharePoint or Dataverse. Search(), Filter(), and Lookup() will all work with most data sources or local collections. but there is nothing available in Power Apps to search the user interface itself.

    Good morning,

@Pstork1 thank you for your reply. I am probably using a Canvas app in an unconventional way, where lots of data is manually transferred to it in various HTML boxes in aesthetically pleasing ways in hopes front line field technicians will like the way it looks/works and utilize it in the field. But I think the big downfall is as the data grows within the app itself I don't have a way to add a search function as time goes on.

Given all the googling and looking on here for it I felt like it wasn't an option and I appreciate your confirmation.

    Thank you!
