I created a new combo box and haven't done anything besides changing the border color.
I wonder why it has parent control and depends on other comboboxes I made previously.
Is there any way to remove this feature?

Actually, you could find that you could ignore this feature by leaving it alone without any settings.
Just follow your original need to set its Items property.

It is just by design, leave it alone, and it makes no sense.
