Customer Success Canvas App

I have been asked to create a very basic CRM for our senior management team.  I have come across the Customer Success App template.  This looks like a good basis for what I need.  I do need to add some unique fields that the team want.  I can see that the data is held in a collection.  

 

How can I edit the collection?  Should I use the collction for data storage, should I use a SharePoint list instead?

    You have to use Sharepoint list as the Storage. Collections are temporary and therefore it not advisable to use it. It usually use as temporary storage within the App.
    To be able to edit the collection, I will advise you use Patch to send the data in the collection to the sharepoint list. After that create a form and use the sharepoint list as the datasource for the form. From there, you can edit and save it back to sharepoint.
