testing enhancements while the app is in production

Hi All,

Hope all is well with everyone out here!!!

I handed an app to a group of users, now I have to make enhancements.

This app uses a barcode scanner, so I have to test it on a phone or Ipdad.

How can I publish a new version to test while everyone still uses the old app?

TIA,

Joe

    Hi @joef ,

Just use SaveAs and give the test version a different name for testing (you will have to share it) - I usually put "Beta" on the end of the name and the users who are testing know that is the one to test. Otherwise, as you know you can only have one current published version.

    Hi @WarrenBelz,

After I make the modifications to the test version, I just have to save as the original name that will just overwrite the production version?

    Thanks again,

    Joe

    Hi @joef ,

I use a different name for the test version (I mentioned adding "Beta" on the end which my testing users know).

When you are happy the test version is the one you want, either update the original with the changes or rename them both (which is what I do). I use "Old" on the old version and keep it shared for a little while and obviously rename the test version to the original title. I have a bit over 100 users but only about 10 office-based and I email them with the new link if they favorites to change. I tell the field staff to refresh the list in their app and all continues as normal.

    Thanks @WarrenBelz,

That's what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure 🙂

Not Ideal, but i guess it's better than publishing bugs while adding features 🙂

    Thanks Again,

    Joe
