Localization Issue with "Modern Number Input" Control – Need for Comma as Decimal Separator

Posted on by

Dear PowerApps Development Team,

I'm writing to highlight a significant localization issue with the "Modern Number Input" control in PowerApps. In Europe, the comma is commonly used as the decimal separator, but currently, the control only accepts a dot. This limitation is causing confusion and usability problems for our users, who naturally try to input numbers using a comma.

This issue leads to data entry errors and a frustrating user experience, as it goes against the standard numerical format familiar to our users. For our business requirements, it's essential to support the comma as a decimal separator to enhance usability and ensure data accuracy.

I kindly request that you update the "Modern Number Input" control to accept commas based on the user's locale settings. Addressing this issue will not only benefit our organization but also improve the experience for many users across Europe who rely on PowerApps.

Best regards

    hey

this is another great example why not to use modern controls as of now.

they are still in preview an causing more issues than they bring benefits. i and many others wont suggest using modern controls as of now.

the only way out of this is to keep using classic controls as of now and until the modern ones are out of preview.
