You need to have the Environment Maker security role in the Power Platform environment to create or contribute to agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio.
If a colleague shares a Copilot Studio agent with you for co-authoring, the system will automatically assign you a “Bot Contributor” role along with Environment Maker access in that environment. (In other words, when someone invites you to collaborate on a bot, Copilot Studio grants the necessary permissions behind the scenes.)
Can you get the Environment Maker Security Role and try again?
Open the environment
Go to Users + permissions
Open your user
Assign Environment Maker (recommended)
