Data validation errors when importing Excel file

I'm having an issue importing data into the dataverse from an Excel spreadsheet.

As you can see from the screenshot, it seems that anything that wouldn't be valid if we were using US dates is failing. With that said, every setting in our system, including my browser, is all set to English (Australia). How can I get rid of all validation based on the backwards American dates so that I can import the data?

I have the same question (0)

So the problem is its backwards, meaning your MM and DD are being seen as DD and MM respectively so right now (ISO issues), so can you verify in dataverse

    1. What is the Columns Date setting (local?)
    2. Can you please verify what Language it is for the Database instance?
    3. So the ones that get over 12 (aka months but for you days) will fail as it thinks you are trying to tell it there are 13+ months
    4. Verify what language was used when you built dataverse (which is like #1)  but hopefully you remember :-)
    5. Use a dataflow instead and use a Transform to fix the date instead of a direct Import

So either fix Excel to store them properly (which you can) and is the easiest depending

or verify what you have for the back end one of them is incorrect

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey

    Hey Michael.

    1. Columns date setting is locked to Date and Time. I tried to change it to date only just to test it out, but it doesn't let me update it. This is true for all date columns affected.
    2. By the database, I'm assuming you mean the Microsoft Dataverse I'm trying to import it into. I've looked through every setting in the admin portal and any time language is mentioned, it's set to English (Australia). If you're able to point me to a specific setting, I can check.
    3. I figured that was the problem. My issue is that I can't input this data because it seems to be forced into US mode.
    4. I didn't build the system. I'm merely maintaining it. And the specific people who built it are long gone from our partner who created the instance.
    5. This is a good suggestion, but I still need to create the table to link to the dataflow.

Surely since over 90% of the world don't live in the US, someone has worked out how to use non-US dates when importing an Excel sheet?
