Updating person field in SharePoint List based on dropdown value

Hi,

I'm trying to work out how I can change the value in the person column of a SharePoint list based on the value of a dropdown value in the App, I currently have all this set up manually but want to automate this somehow.

The scenario is, I have an Asset Management App and my dropdown list contains the asset status. What I would like to do now based on the action of a button is that when I select 'In Stock' from the list and hit the submit button I want the person field to change to a chosen 'User Account'.

Is this possible and how can I do this?

Thanks in advance.....

Craig

    Hi @Surfmania77 ,

YOu can Create a flow like below and Pass the selected value of Dropdown and validate in the flow.

and on true Condition update, the User Person field value just passes the user email id. in Update actions.

and Call the FLow in Powerapp and Pass value like below.

Thanks for the reply, you make it look so easy but can you be a bit more granular please, appreciate you helping too.

Your response was a tad too high level for me.

Are you able to provide a simplified overview of this for me?

    @VijayTailor

Thanks, that's the button control but what about the control of updating the item in a gallery for that item to update on SharePoint?

    Surfmania77_0-1604524900265.png

That will move selected item to 'In Stock'

Select 'In Stock' and that particular gallery item will update in SharePoint assigned a chosen account

    Hi @Surfmania77 ,

if you want to Update using Gallery with Button then why you need a FLow, Your can Directly Patch the Data into SP List , On List is Updated then Gallery Data Updated Instantly.

    Thanks,
    Vijay
