Hi friends,

Is there any way to play videos inside PowerApps which are hosted on the SharePoint document library? I am able to play Youtube videos. But its not working for SharePoint videos. Any help regarding this would be really appreciated.

Thank you

    Hi @aluzaja178 ,

You can consider using Stream, which is part of your Office365 subscription and has its own player control

however you are correct that SharePoint Library files cannot be played.

With the introduction of Stream on Sharepoint (not Classic), the Stream control in PowerApps does not work anymore, as it insists that the StreamURL contains microsoftstream.com domain name (but with the new Stream version video's are stored with a sharepoint url....)

    Hello,
it is possible to do this by filtering the library for the desired item and inserting the value of {Link} in the Media property

I too am struggling with this.

For the time-being, I created a gallery with a thumbnail image of the video and a link to play the video in a separate tab 😞

I was hoping to be able to have a layout option to have a "window" within the app to play the video.

It worked for me doing like this!
You need to get the direct link from SharePoint video file. On the options of the file do the following:
    1.Copy link

2.Select the option: "People with existing access"

3.Remove the red part of the link

    Hi Leo,

Can you elaborate on your solution?

What do you mean by "On the options of the file"?

We are talking about playing a video in a Power APP that is stored in a SharePoint library.

Have you managed to get this working?

So far, I have been able to include the link to the video file in the Media property of the Video control. The video will play but with audio only, It doesn't show anything.

    Thank you

    Josu

Hey @jRufus , yes I got this working!

By options of the file I mean the three dots of each file in the library (pic below)

All my files are .mp4 HD resolution

    Ok I understand.

The problem I have is that my users upload vídeos using the same PowerAPP and If I understand right, your solution means having to manually change the Media property of the video in the PowerAPP for each video.

That is no good for my APP where I'd like my videos uploaded an played dinamically.

Thanks for your help anyway 🙂

    Do you have this working?

I am working on a Canvas app digital signage solution where images or videos display. The videos are stored in a SharePoint library. I have a SharePoint list containing an image or the video file name. The application continuously reads through the list so that I can add dynamically add new items. It works, but when testing with a different user the SharePoint videos do not play unless the user first opens a new tab to the SharePoint library. Permissions appear to be configured correctly.

Is there some other form of initialization that has to occur?

    Ronald
