[PowerApps] Connection with an SQL Server

Good evening,

I'm starting on trying the new service provided by MS (PowerApps) and I'm not able to connect my SQL Servers to the PowerApp's, as listed on:

https://azure.microsoft.com/es-es/documentation/articles/powerapps-create-api-sqlserver/

And I'm not even close to get the API to work, would like if someone could give me a clue.

First thing is that I log into Azure enviroment and I can't Access PowerApps (while logging in with the APP it lets me).

Also, why is there no option from the app itself to connect to SQL Server enviroments? (Or Dynamics NAV ones).

Edit:

I tried creating a BBDD on Azure, to use it's connection String to add it to PowerApps, but it keeps telling me "The data did not load correctly. Please try again". I tried with all the strings that Azure CMS gives you, and none is working(Firewall on the server is already allowing my connections).

Any clue?

EDIT: I managed to connect via AZURE with the ADO String obtained through Azure CMS. Still unable to connect to a SQL Server not in Azure enviroment.

Thank you very much, best regards.

    Hi,

Did you get an email saying that your account is whitelisted? Have you signed up for an invite yet?
PowerApps is currently in preview and only allowing very small sets of users in at this point.

    Thanks,

    Wendy

I have exactly the same problem, I try now for a week to get started, however still get the same error:

Your IT department has turned off signup for Microosft PowerApps.

I just received an invitation for a survey about Powerapps, I am not able to give feedback on a product that I couls not use.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Pieter, please try the below steps:

This issue is usually due to a configuration on Azure.

PowerApps uses the same setting as PowerBI This article may be the root of your issue https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Power-BI-in-your-Organization-d7941332-8aec-4e5e-87e8-92073ce73dc5#BKMK_PreventJoining

     Try the following steps:

                    1. Set-MsolCompanySettings -AllowAdHocSubscriptions $true

                    2. Set-MsolCompanySettings -AllowEmailVerifiedUsers $true

Then retry to login and it should work now

Let me know how this works.

    Hi!

Mr Levesque and Mr Kless from Microsoft gived me just the solution. In the Windows Azure Active Directory Module for PowerShell just type the following lines :

    PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> connect-msolservice -credential $msolcred
    PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Set-MsolCompanySettings -AllowAdHocSubscriptions $true
    PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Set-MsolCompanySettings -AllowEmailVerifiedUsers $true

It works for me like a charm!

    Have a nice day!
