Has any one had an issue of deleted/disabled AD user accounts appearing in the users table with the objectId added in front of the email address?
See example below:
Is this something that is part of the deletion process?
@bfausti
I am noticing the same but I am not sure why this is happening.
Thanks @Mira_Ghaly for your reply.
Can you let me know what tip number on the blog specifically are you referring to?
Hi @bfausti, it may be an Azure AD behavior and then gets synced back in Dataverse...is it the same thing if you look in AAD? If not, then it may be a Dataverse process so that thr system doesn't actual send emails to those user and also so that no emails get tracked in Dataverse under these users...
Hi @EricRegnier,
Yeah the more I look into it I believe it is just a Dataverse process as the AD account no longer exists in Azure AD. It may have something to do with the soft delete process in place where you have 30 days to restore a deleted user, see this article:https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/fundamentals/active-directory-users-restore
Would be good if someone could confirm this process?
Cheers
Any one got any answers around this issue?
Hi @bfausti,I did a few tests and confirm that it's an AAD behavior and not a Dataverse one. We see the guid prefix in DV because it syncs the info from AAD which has the guid prefix. When a user is restored in AAD, the guid is removed in DV, and when a user is permentaly deleted in AAD, the record stays as it in DV. Here's an example of how a soft deleted user looks like in AAD:
Note you can hard delete the user records in DV once they are deleted in AAD. Here's more info: https://learn.microsoft.com/power-platform/admin/delete-users#delete-users-in-power-platform-preview
Hope this helps!
Thank you very much @EricRegnier for confirming this for me. This now explains the behaviour in DV & AAD. Much appreciated 🙂
